[ WENDY L STEVENSON [1950-2003] A prolific Nottinghamshire artist, born in Mansfield in 1950. She worked in both oils and watercolours and quickly established an international reputation, stretching from America to Japan, for her glowing images, particularly of farmyard animals and other domestic creatures, especially cats, with whom she enjoyed a wonderfully close affinity which shows through clearly in her work. She won many prizes for her work including Best Painting at London's Llewellyn Alexander Gallery and the award of the Silver Palette Trophy. She was also commissioned by Paramount, the American film studio. Some of her best work remains on permanent display at the Longdale Craft Centre and Museum at Ravenshead, Nottinghamshire. Wendy Stevenson's work is now increasingly collectable and does well at auction.] Please contact us if you would like to view any of our artwork in person.
