Description

A fine binding by Sir Edward Sullivan [E.S. Aurifex]; pp. xvi, 315. Crushed brown morocco, with the boards tooled in gilt with an Arts and Craft influence, the spine decorated with a floral pattern; wide turn-ins extravagently decorated; Bound by E.S. Aurifex", Sir Edward Sullivan's name as finisher stamped to the lower edge of the turn ins. All edges bright gilt. Binding very good, crackto the front hinge has been professionally and dicreetly strengthend internally with Japanese tissue, hinge is strong but the leather a little prone to crease on opening. Contents clean and tight, no inscriptions, no foxing, appears unread. A fine book in a fine binding..
