pp. xi, [1], 210, [1 -errata]; [2 - blanks]; three engraved plates (the engraving of Meeting the Indians is bound opposite p. 40 and not as the frontispiece). Contemporary half black polished calf with gilt lettering and decoration to the spine; navy-blue moire silk boards; original marbled end papers. Binding very good and strong with light wear, slight rubbing to edges. Contents clean and tight, the odd spot; plates a little toned and slightly toned to edges . Provenance: with the contemporary engraved bookplate of Thomas Christy to the front free end paper. A very good copy.
