Description

Pp. iv, 269 ; Illustrated with an engraved pictorial title- page and 23 plates engraved in stipple. Two pages of publisher's adverts to the rear. Original hardback binding, front board only, paper covered board with significant remains of original printed paper adhered to board, roan leather to the spine with gilt, now craked in several places and areas missing. This item requires rebinding or to be placed in a solander box since it is now held only by the cords in several parts. Contents clean and tight, minimal marking, paper bright with no foxing, neat ink signature to the top of the front free endpaper. A very good copy of this rare collection of tales. (Bibliographic reference Osbourne Collection TPL page 595) It is interesting to note that Copac lists 2 both with only 20 plates, auction records are scarce for this title with only two in the last ten years.
